Hello everyone! I am Olympia from @my_lovemade_wardrobe and I am so happy to be guest posting today over at Pin and Sew blog.
I started sewing about 9 years ago but only last year I started sewing clothes for me and my family. I am always trying to find fabrics of the best quality as I want to enjoy everything I have made!
When Aga contacted me to create something with this wonderful pink viscose jersey fabric I was more than excited, and the first sewing pattern I thought of was this top from Burda Style pattern.
As for the process, after having prewashed the fabric and traced the pattern I started sewing it! This is an easy pattern to make if you have sewn a blouse before. The only thing you have to be careful about is the placement of the ruffles, but believe me it is not that difficult if you follow the instructions!
The quality of this fabric is really amazing, and although it is a viscose jersey you would not need a lining as it is 100% opaque. I had no problems sewing it on my regular sewing machine with a stretch needle
Why did I choose a Burda Style magazine pattern? Well, in my country (Greece) Burda Style magazine is the most popular among seamstresses of all ages and the only one translated to Greek language. I am eagerly awaiting every month to get it and I am always finding some exciting patterns to try! Each issue has approximately 40-42 different patterns so you can easily find something to suit your personal style. The only complicated process when sewing with Burda Style is the tracing…It can be a bit tricky as all pattern pieces are crammed on 4 pages! Just imagine what it means, It’s a real labyrinth. However I believe all the preparation is all worth it and usually you love the end result!
Would I make this pattern again? Absolutely yes! I really love the way it came out and I would love to try it with different types of knit fabric.
Until next time,
